Puglia is probably the most unique of Italy’s 20 regions. It is located on the heel of the Italian peninsula surrounded by the Adriatic and Ionic Seas. The countryside is filled with silver olive orchards and green vineyards while the medieval towns are populated with whitewashed buildings, narrow cobbled streets and beautiful Romanesque cathedrals and castles. The gorgeous Puglian sea is crystal clear and its shores are alternately rocky and sandy with beautiful high cliff areas and towns built right on the edge.
